Sir, This is about The Jodhpur Rally held on 29th October 2008. To me the behaviour displayed by the Party members is irresponsible and unacceptable.
1. Use of Plaques on vehicles showing status (in red circle), how can we fight the people whom we are aping, this is happening before elections what will happen after it. To me the person is extremely hungry of power not reforms and awareness. (could have written VOTE FOR JAGO/ JOIN JAGO instead of mantri so and so, if you expect leniency from me.)
2. If you can see in the extreme left, triple riding on a motorcycle, what are we trying to tell to people, if you join us you can break the rules, risk your life along with others. Even if we find a law obsolete, we must respect and obey it till it is changed. (I don't know about the helmet law in Rajasthan so not commenting on it. )
Sir please make sure that such irresponsible and careless behaviour does not happen in the coming days. Even though smallest action is better than noblest intention, the intention is most important part of an act! Sincerely, Latent Dissent.

Thank you all for making this event the most successful one I have ever organized in my life. You will laugh at this statement but this is the truth.
These four responses to my words from people I don't even know, I haven't even met, are more precious to me than those from people I know. It fills you with pride that such people are there in our society who are ready to listen to strangers, it fills you with responsibility that people are listening to you, watching you, talking to you.
Since this was an unadvertised (and random) event by an unknown representative of an unknown party , I was hoping for just one response this year to continue this mission, but got four instead. Apart from the above, it also signifies that how grim the situation is, how fed people are with the system, how they are willing to change it, even run it. It hurts all of us that our country is not going in the right direction and we are unable to do anything about it. As said in 'A Wednesday', we are a part of this rot not by choice but by force.
I want to stress again the point that this problem stemmed from democracy and democracy alone can solve it. The secret ballot is the most powerful weapon in this war, nobody can tell whom have you voted, that's a power par excellence.
The main problem today however is the Crisis of Leadership, we don't have right people at the right places, I think most our problems will be solved if we can ensure this. For this people, the common citizens have to come forward to contest elections and participate actively in our polity. Nobody has probed the pulse of the citizens, Jago Party can and should be that platform, why should people be afraid or ashamed of doing something right.
The job that requires the least qualifications but has maximum impact on our lives has no takers of good people, why do we fear this job, we just have to order the bureaucracy and the government machinery that people want this get this done. They have to do it, its their job to do it and the job of people's representatives is to ensure and supervise this work and change the leaders of the teams if found inefficient. Is it a very hard job? Why don't people come forward to accept this simple fact and their responsibilities?
These four people are thus worthy of respect and a hearty thanks, because they came forward when nobody else did.

First let me ask you or rather myself, where does all our skepticism go in front our netas and ministers, we laugh on Laloo Yadav’s Buffoonry, knowing what he has done, what sort of people he has given tickets to, when we should be ashamed. Why we always quote rote-statements from media and the so-called experts, why we think more of criminals, less of victims, WHY I ASK WHY? However. . .
This argument will be put through numbered points as there are limited points:
We had one of the best drafted Constitutions in this world, made under supervision and by people like Dr. Ambedkar, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Pt. Nehru, then why do we face current problems.
The answer to it is, following the law in letter but not in spirit. The Spirit, The Soul is essential for a Law to achieve what it was meant to achieve, just like it is essential for human being to be alive.
Then a reverse skepticism comes to my mind, when you follow a system and its provisions so closely that you can easily draft a perfect law, you are more in love with the system than against it. If you will change it all you efforts till now are ‘null and void’. The second related point is the most used excuse of our politicians, the bureaucrats have been in this system for many years they know all the loopholes, all the technicalities, what can we do if they fool us or we don’t achieve the goals. Okay Sir, your argument I for one accept. Just imagine why not we make a fresh start, neither you know the procedure nor do I, let the intentions be clear, let the goals be clear, let the targets be set, we will together deal with the technicalities, after all it’s OUR country, at least for once. There will be no excuses at least once.
The last reason is that this obsession with drafting and perfect letters proved fatal during the recent Mumbai Terror Attacks. You might already know, the CP of Mumbai sent request for help to Navy, which refused to send MARCOS (Marine Commandos) just because it was not properly drafted and undersigned by an officer of right rank. Just think over it.
Even if you are unconvinced then please tell me how justice is done in your home, how duties are divided amongst the family members, how do you plan your year/month/week, are all these well drafted and placed in front of you, so that you are reminded daily. Now don’t say that you do all of these informally, without a well drafted code, if this is the case just think over this last one, tell me if a person who elects his government can survive without written code why can’t a nation.
Most of us don’t need laws to govern and guide our behavior in daily lives, our family values, our education, our conscience are enough. And those people for whom these laws are meant for are sitting in our Legislatures, Lok Sabha, Vidhaan Sabhas. JUST THINK OVER IT.
The first impression of these policies and proposals do seem amateurish and impractical, the first emotion to emerge is that of fear, the images of a police state comes to mind, the
horrors of emergency (if one has seen) are recalled.
The reason for it is that we think that if corrupt and criminals will have this fate what will happen to us, this too is not wrong for the corrupt, the criminals, the ‘bahubalis’, the ‘bhais’ today represent power, they are considered super-males, for an ordinary person cannot and does not break the rules, kill a person, rape someone, harass someone, exploit someone, and walk free without a guilty conscience and without police arresting him. Who can give punishments to such powerful people can surely and easily destroy me.
We start imagining a police (government) that controls each and every action of the citizen just like a fascist state or an authoritarian state and adding to that the stories of Police Excesses are well known all over the country. But this is wrong; I think the aim was to evoke fear in those who need to fear the laws (i.e. The Criminals) and not the common person. The aim was to tell people that this is possible, but people who are daily fed with facts from media (both print and electronic) and education system has entrenched in them that we have to work/ function under this system only, there is no need for change and change is bad.
We are the Champions of Legacies, the bureaucracy, the political system, the judicial system , each and everything copied borrowed from some other country, students in Class 10 learn a list of more than 20 countries from where our constitution is borrowed. Economic Model, the India’s innovation, The Mixed Model, we will have both Public and Private Sectors, we will neither on this side nor that, if anything goes wrong blame one part and the next time blame the other, and keep on this cycle for eternity. We will make 4 pillars of State when all the other countries have 3, we will give each a constitutional status so that everyone has a guarantee to loot the system and never be thrown out.
See this The Mixed Model Strategy, The Search for Best of Both World, leads us around a circular path and each time we stop we are at the crossroads, we have given this model 60 years, I say why not give a chance at least to a Model that takes one side instead of both, kick them out after 5 years, at least you could say that we experimented with it and the idea failed, but the problem is we have learned and built so many excuses that even a small step now look impossible. But whatever be your thinking, remember that the people who have vested interests in the system won’t gift you your rights at their own cost.
Coming back to the harshness issue, what I thought when I read various topics was that the person who has written this is influenced by Shankar’s two movies Naayak and Aparichit, the level of desperation, the thinking, the explanations can be seen in these two movies. २. भ्रष्ट नेताओं, चोर-उचक्कों, अपराधियों, देश को धर्म, क्षेत्र और जातियों के नाम पर बांटने वाले लोगों को यह पता चलता है की कुछ लोग जाग गए हैं और उनके बहकावे में नही आने वाले.
३. यह वातानुकूलित कमरों में बैठकर सरकारी पैसे पर 'शोध' और 'खोज' करने वाले विशेषज्ञों के मुंह पर तमाचे की तरह पड़ता है जो करना तो कुछ नही चाहते और कुछ करने वालों को बदनाम करते हैं.
४. मीडिया और स्कूल-कालेजों में बार बार सुनकर जो युवा भारत को महान लोकतंत्र मानने लगते, शाइनिंग इंडिया के छलावे में आ जाते हैं उनको यह संदेश देता है की सच इससे परे है, जिन आदर्शों और मूल्यों की कसौटी पर वो अच्छा काम करने वालों को आजमाते हैं उन्ही मूल्यों और आदर्शों का गला घोंटकर लोग, उन्ही के वोट पर, उनके प्यारे देश, उनकी मातृभूमि को बेचने के लिए सत्ता पर बैठते हैं, और न मीडिया ना विशेषज्ञ कोई सवाल उठाते हैं, युवाओं को यह बताता है की डरने, बहकावे में आने से और बहाने बनाने से वो आज तो बच जाएंगे पर कल की पीढी जब सवाल करेगी तब उनके पास क्या जवाब होगा, हम स्वर्णिम भारत में रहते थे?
५. अंत में जागो पार्टी को मिलने वाला हरेक वोट, उन सभी लोगों को प्रोत्साहन देता है जो अपने काम के साथ-साथ, देश की दशा और दिशा बदलने के लिए और उसको विकसित और सुरक्षित बनाने के लिए काम कर रहे हैं.

I am an ordinary man like who felt enough is enough after the Mumbai Terror Attacks, thought of working to clean the dirt in our country and its systems. I felt that in Democracy Politics is the thing that controls and is capable of making far reaching changes.
For this I thought of forming a new political party with like minded people, I searched the net to know whether someone has already initiated the mission of rebuilding our nation, I came to know about Jago Party, became an active member that very moment. I didn’t want to dissipate my anger to different places and disrespect myself. I didn’t want to fight battles on TV but a war in reality, once and for all.
This is the context where my real identity subsided and I became Latent Dissent, how and why I came to this decision read ahead
If I tell you that I am from Bhopal, am 25 years old and support liberalism you would focus on my words and ideas, but if I add to that my name you would consider my views in the context of my religion and caste, adding occupation would further complicate the picture, I want to talk to you on the condition of our country not myself, that’s the first reason.
The second reason is that, the moment you talk of joining politics to make a change, people start imagining you as a selfish person who wants to fulfill his personal ambitions through politics, there is nothing wrong in the attitude, even I am skeptic of anyone who shows such inclinations, the reason is we have been cheated emotionally so many times by our politicians that we don’t want any further responsibilities of creating yet another scoundrel.
I further accept that I am no expert in the field, but my intentions are very clear on the issue, much better than many experts of this field. I want to change my country for good, I am doing, I am trying my best, THE TURN IS YOURS !
I recently read someone discussing building up Jago Party from the ‘grassroots’ that is rural areas, he gave some plan for gram, janpad, zila level working of the party. Respecting his effort on the issue, I beg to differ on this issue.
First taking a look at the history of various political parties, we can say that almost all of them originated from urban centers. Leave apart that, even Jago Party is basically an urban party and being one its core strength is in urban youth.
We all know that all wars are fought and won based on Core Strength, if one’s core strength is powerful and surprising enough the other party looses. People think that since the rural India forms about 65-70 percent of population whatever they do, it will not affect the voters in rural areas. This is a wrong way of looking at it; we are missing the point by diverting attention to an unrelated issue.If rural population is 70 percent then 30 percent is urban. Agree, now the 30 percent comprise of 5 percent high income, 5 percent high-mid income, 5 percent low-mid income and rest 15 low income. I have chosen income because urban areas don’t have the barriers of Caste that strong. So, I am talking to the top 10 percent category now, naturally you might be using services of the lower 10 percent category in the form of domestic helps, dhobis, electricians, plumbers, etc. Even at work place you may have an interaction with them.
The next time you pass you baais or dhobis, just ask them ‘to which place they belong? And are they in touch with the place?’, urban places are made up from a migrated population, all of its residents have their roots somewhere in the rural India.(ask your parents). You will be surprised to know that not only are they well connected to their places, there is a constant exchange of information going on between them, the issues of urban India are reported and the condition and issues of rural India be reported back
This interaction can swing the real public opinion of India in very less time as it now uses mobile phones; watches satellite DTH TV, unlike yesteryears. They also learn from you and me, if you have a large shelf of books in your house they start spending more on their children’s education, if you have computer they start sending them to computer classes. As I’ve said elsewhere we must not see and treat them as passive creatures, they are seeing, listening, and emulating our behavior. They too think on the political issues like you and me and rely on somebody else to choose for them the right party, which more often than not is the village elder-man like our family heads.
Coming back to our topic, if we are able to influence even 10 percent of urban India take it from me more than 20 percent of rural India would be aware of our activities. Also (though sadly) the media attention is more in urban centers so your meager 10 percent efforts too will not go unnoticed. So we must focus on our strengths, what we are good at doing, not trying something new initially, when we are confident about the foundation then only can we build up a structure.
Consider this scenario: there are two candidates for the last seat in a prestigious college. They both have scored same marks. How do you decide on to whom the seat is to be given. I guess your reply would be a flip of coin, the most fair of all the methods.
I say this is wrong. Truth is Relative. Consider this, candidate A is the son of a top bureaucrat, he has attended one of the most prestigious schools of India and has lived a life of comfort. Compare it with candidate B, daughter of a rickshaw puller, eldest in four sisters whose mother died in her early childhood. She worked hard throughout her life to make the lives of her sisters better. Now who would you allot the seat to. . .
The problem is not reservation; the problem is the intention behind it and the way it is implemented. We have so many experts in the field can’t we devise a model that really helps the needy and slams the greedy. I don’t think that’s too much to ask for.
I am skeptic about this because our prejudices take over us as soon as the crisis is over. Will the children of a rich man and a poor man study together in the same school or will we have different schools for different people only time will tell.
This education policy too misses the importance of Morals and Ethics in society. The schools are still teaching the problems of society but the students are either detached or at the most indifferent. Moral Science as a subject should be made compulsory with double marks than that of Mathematics. Without it the society has to cope with self-serving automatons.
Sorry for bothering you again. I thought I had one more chance, I would write to you in English and if you find it useful you may help spreading the message for the national cause.
Like the whole nation I too was stirred by the blatant terror attack on Mumbai. I was very angry and started thinking about the solutions not only for Terrorism but bringing India to the top. One solution stood above all was that our Politics and Politicians were failing us. So the need for Political Reforms should be the topmost agenda of us, from political reforms would flow other reforms and we could have a strong, developed and united nation.
Naturally, present day political parties aren’t suitable as well as deaf for meeting these demands. They are happily playing the Musical chair of power aided by Corruption, Reservation and Religion. If the present process continues for another 10 years, I doubt that there will be any existence India as we see today, forget about the India of My Dreams.
People’s anger is at its highest this time but it is being expressed in the form of SMS, Candle Light Vigils, Posters, Banners and Pamphlets. I am not a votary of such tactics, though I used to do these earlier. Some more proactive citizens have started forming parties on the regional and local levels like that given in your report. I do not agree to this too, but I respect every persons fundamental right form association.
My main objection to local and regional parties is that eventually they lead to further fragmentation of our politics and delicately balanced governments that survive on whims and fancy (and corruption) of a local leader (e.g. Shibu Soren). In this context I would like to draw your attention to Jago Party.
Jago Party is essentially a party of citizens with non-political background, common people like you and me. It was formed with the major goals of eliminating reservation, tackling crime and terrorism with severest punishment (death sentence) and banishing corruption from India. The party devoted to bringing the activity of government to the basics and all other activities be divested or put under the private sector. The educational agenda of the party is free education for all in English medium in private schools. So is the aim of privatizing the Power Sector and Railways. Above all, the mission of Jago Party is to make India a very safe, strong and rich country.
Within 6 months, more than 2 lakh people have come forward to support the party. Sadly enough, the party is not well known in Madhya Pradesh especially in Bhopal. I think that becoming a part of a national party will channelize our efforts in one direction and bring fruitful results. Otherwise, though there may be changes at the surface nothing will change at the core of our nation. We are surrounded by enemies and are alone, if only all the Indians come together we can face the challenge. The politicians have developed vested interests in the system they will not gift us reforms, we have to snatch it from them and for that reason more and more people need to join politics so that politics does not stay the game of scoundrels.
If only people would know that work has already started and their help is absolutely needed then only we could expect a change of such magnitude. This is where you become the key element in the chain. I request you to make Bhopal aware of the Party and its goals and help the great cause.

The debate over Capitalism versus Socialism/Communism is not relevant now. More so on grounds of what happened in USA, Russia, Japan and China. The problem with this approach is that people start to take sides rather than being neutral or being on the side of India. Both are ways of looking at a thing, the exchange of goods and services in the society.
Disintegration of USSR not only symbolizes the failure of Socialism but also the dirty politics and tactics of USA. Using unjust means to reach the most just end cannot bring out good outcomes.
As for Japan, their army was completely destroyed by USA after World War II (I am no expert in history kindly pardon errors if any.) and it stands under constant watch of Uncle Sam till now. Can any Indian do business in such a situation, keeping their national pride at the hands of another country?
China, how can we follow its model? Following a policy ruthlessly is only good and favourable for the persons making it and implementing it, not for the public that has to follow the orders. What’s going on inside nobody knows, what's the extent of this ruthlessness no one knows.
Turning our eyes to the happenings in 2008, we saw big companies and banks of USA going bankrupt. Can we say that the Free Market is the best solution for our country? While I agree that Government should do what is does best, Govern but I still feel something goes missing in this discussion.
That missing part is ‘Ethics and Morals’. When a bank gives loan knowing that the person can’t pay it back just for a couple of percent interest, it is not only clear example of Unethical Business Practice but it also turns the notion of utility of Free Market at its head.
Moreover, there are some businessmen who actually solicit illegal activities as it brings more profit.
Also, the businesses’ prime concern is profit; it is very evident from Union Carbide’s behavior (it is a company from the doyen of Capitalism, USA) which caused Bhopal Gas Tragedy. Due to falling profits cost cutting measures were undertaken and the cost was cut from maintenance of plant that contains extremely toxic chemicals.
As to the statement, A few capitalists and businessmen have done more to help mankind live a more enjoyable life (indeed, most people would not even be alive today if it weren't for capitalists) than all humanitarians, social workers, and clergy men combined. If one considers human life a value, then they should regard capitalists as one of its greatest promoters.
I want to add that all capitalists, entrepreneurs and businessmen require a very stable, safe and strong state to function and if the motives are not clean, morals are low and ethics is missing we have a corrupt (failed and bankrupt) state as India was during License-Permit-Quota Raj. A businessman becomes the most dangerous enemy of another businessman.

आतंकवाद, महँगाई, भ्रष्टाचार, आदि देशव्यापी मुद्दे हैं और इनका समाधान हमारी राजनीति और शासन-प्रणाली में गंभीर सुधारों के द्वारा ही सम्भव है. पर इन सबसे ऊपर है भारत का एक एकजुट राष्ट्र के रूप में किसी भी चुनौती का सामना करना. ऐसा हमने कई बार देखा है कि किसी भी मुद्दे पर भारत का एक सधा और सटीक जवाब नही होता. मेरा मानना है कि इसकी जड़ों में क्षेत्रवाद ही है. सभी के मौलिक अधिकारों का आदर करते हुए मैं यह कहना चाहता हूँ कि क्षेत्रीय और स्थानीय दल इस संकट कि घड़ी में हम सभी के गुस्से को बिखराने का काम करेंगे और अंततः नतीजा सिफर होगा. साथ ही यह कहना भी ज़रूरी है कि एस.एम्.एस संदेश और मोमबत्तियों कि लौ से हम अपने आपको धोखा दे रहे है क्योंकि कोई भी राजनैतिक दल इस तरीके से सुधारों के लिए बाध्य नही होगा. आख़िर में हम हिंदूवादी पार्टियों को चुनकर अपने आक्रोश को ख़त्म कर देंगे. पर नतीजा वही रहेगा ढाक के तीन पात.
इसी परिपेक्ष में मैं आपका ध्यान जागो पार्टी कि तरफ़ दिलाना चाहता हूँ. जागो पार्टी का गठन इस वर्ष के जनवरी माह में इस सोच के साथ हुआ कि हमारा देश सही नेतृत्व के अभाव में धीरे-धीरे ख़त्म होता जा रहा है. नेताओं के नाम पर चोर-डकैत-बलात्कारी और हत्यारे हमारी संसद और विधायिका में आ गए हैं. भ्रष्टाचार के कारण आम आदमी का जीना दिन पर दिन मुहाल होता जा रहा है. उद्यम को कुचलकर, लोगों को लूटकर चैन कि नींद सोया जा रहा है. आरक्षण और धर्म के नाम पर हमारे देश को तोडा जा रहा है. देश का क्या होगा, हमारी आने वाली पीढियों का क्या होगा इस सवाल को लेकर कुछ गैर-राजनैतिक भारतीयों ने एक दल शुरू किया जो आज एक आन्दोलन में तब्दील हो गया है.
दुःख की बात यह है की मध्य प्रदेश और खासतौर पर भोपाल में इसके बारे में बिल्कुल जागरूकता नही है. मुंबई पर हुए आतंकी हमले ने मेरे जैसे कईयों की अंतर्मन को झकझोरा है. समय आ चुका है कि हम नेताओं और राजनैतिक दलों को दोष देना बंद करें और कुछ कर के दिखाएँ. विरोध कि छोटी छोटी नदियाँ न बनकर हमें एक विशाल सागर बनना होगा तभी हम सही तौर पर भारत का निर्माण एक नए राष्ट्र के रूप में कर पाएंगे.
